This recipe has been in my family for a generation or two. The aunts like to say it goes all the way back to relatives from Italy, but we all know they are lying. Still, it is one of my absolute favorites.

Ingredients
1.5-2 boxes of uncooked lasagna noodles (don’t waste money on no bake)
- Sauce Pan
1 lb ground beef
½ lb hot pork sausage
2-4 cloves garlic, minced
1 T basil
(add these after above is browned) 2 14oz cans of tomatoes
1 12oz can of tomato paste
- Mix in bowl
1 lb small curd cottage cheese (can use ricotta but its not as flavorful)
¼-1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
16 oz mozzarella cheese
4 eggs
½ tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
2 T parsley
¼ tsp oregano
Directions
- In a sauce pan, brown the meat, garlic and basil and drain.
- Then add the tomatoes and paste and mix thoroughly. Simmer for 30 min
- Preheat oven to 375 f
- Meanwhile, mix the cheese ingredients in a bowl all together.
- grease a 9×13″ pan
- Layer in this order Sauce, Noodles, cheese mix (finish with cheese on top)
- Bake for 45 min
